Life-cycle of simulation models: requirements and case studies in the automotive industry

چکیده
There is a tendency to maintain and use simulation models, once implemented, over a period of several years. This article discusses a couple of reasons for this increase in the long term use of models. Two cases from the German car manufacturing company BMW Group are presented to illustrate the particular technical and organizational challenges related to the application of a simulation model for almost a decade.
